Elementary Proficiency - upon the completion of Beginner Course, participants will be able to:

Speaking:
speak to satisfy immediate needs using learned utterances.

Listening:
respond readily only to utterances thoroughly familiar to them or that are predictable within the areas of their immediate survival needs.

Reading:
read short and simple sentences and instructions.

Writing:
write with reasonable accuracy short words and brief familiar utterances.

Minimum Survival Proficiency - upon the completion of Post-Beginner Course, participants will be able to:

Speakin:

speak to satisfy basic survival needs and minimum courtesy requirements.

Listening:
respond to meet basic survival needs.

Reading:

read personal and place names, street signs, offices and shops.

Writing:
write to satisfy basic survival needs.

Survival Proficiency - upon the completion of Post-Beginner Course, participants will be able to:

Speaking:
speak to satisfy all survival needs and limited social demands.

Listening:

respond to satisfy all survival needs and limited social demands.

Reading:

read short texts on subjects related to their immediate needs.

Writing:
write messages to satisfy all survival needs and limited social demands.

Minimum Social Proficiency - upon the completion of Intermediate Course, participants will be able to:

Speaking:
speak the language necessary to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements.

Listening:

respond to communication in routine social situations and limited work situations.

Reading:

read simple prose in a form equivalent to typescript or printing on subjects within familiar contexts.

Writing:
write to satisfy routine social demands and limited work requirements.

Minimum Professional Proficiency - upon the completion of Post-Intermediate Course, participants will be able to:

Speaking:

speak the language with sufficient structural accuracy and vocabulary to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversation on practical social and vocational topics.

Listening:

respond sufficiently, ready to participate in most formal and informal conversation with native speakers.

Reading:
read standard newspaper items addressed to the general readers, routine correspondence, report and technical materials in their special fields.

Writing:

write with sufficient accuracy in structures and spelling to meet all social demands and basic work needs.

Full Professional Proficiency - upon the completion of Pre-Advanced Course, participants will be able to:

Speaking:

use the language fluently and accurately on all levels normally pertinent to their personal, social, academic and/or vocational needs.

Listening:

respond easily and accurately in all personal and social contexts and in all academic or vocational contexts relevant to their experiences.

Reading:

read all styles and forms of the language pertinent to their personal, social, academic and/or vocational needs.

Writing:
write accurately on all levels normally pertinent to their personal, social, academic and/or vocational needs.

Native Like Proficiency - upon the completion of Advanced Course, participants will have the following characteristics:

Speaking:
speaking proficiency equivalent to that of an educated native speaker.

Listening:

listening proficiency equivalent to that of an educated native speaker.

Reading:

reading proficiency equivalent to that of an educated native speaker.

Writing:

writing proficiency equivalent to that of an educated native speaker.
